GGP/GPNEPI Environmental Compliance Certificate approved up to 35 MWe
St Leonardo Philippines: Green Power Nueva Ecija Philippines Inc.
attains Environmental Compliance Certificate for 35 MW's of biomass fueled power plant.
GGP subsidiary corporation Global Green Power Nueva Ecija Inc., (GPNEPI) has been issued an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) for its Biomass Power Plant. GPNEPI is currently under development in Luzon, Philippines. The EEC was issued for up to 35 MWe of Electricity from Biomass.
The first phase of GPNEPI development will deliver 15 MW of clean, decentralized, renewable energy to the Luzon Grid from its 5-hectare site located in St Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. The power plant will reduce the Luzon Grids’ energy shortfall, significantly reduce poverty through the collection and use biomass agricultural waste, displace fossil fuel power generation and provide in excess of 850 direct and indirect jobs.
The Nueva Ecija biomass power plant will be developed to the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) "Gold Standard".
